I Heart Walgreens

I've actually never shopped at Walgreens..besides just running in for a prescription or something. But I heard from a couple of different blogs about the $2 off Huggies Wipes coupons they have in their store right now. And these can be combined with any manufacturer's coupons. So I went through my stash..and I had 7..some $1, 75cents and 50cents. So I got excited. I ran to Walgreens on Friday and guess what..they were sold out!! I was so disappointed. We went out of town this weekend to visit my parents and the first stop I made on Saturday morning with my mom was Walgreens. Fortunately, people hadn't heard about this sweet deal in their town. So here's what I got:

7 boxes of wipes for $2.79 each.

$2 Walgreens coupon (1 coupon can be used for ALL the wipes you have in your basket.)

(1) $1 off

(2) 75cents off

(4) 50cents off

Grand Total: $1.11

$1.11 for 7 boxes of wipes! I was so thrilled..and wanted to go to another walgreens and get more! Except I didn't have anymore coupons. But, now I do thanks to the people at church who leave baby coupons in the pre-school for us. So I will be making another trip this week before the Walgreens coupon expires on the 29th. Did any of you take advantage of this SWEET deal?

My New Coupon System

Well, after reading tons of blogs, searching the web and scouring the shelves of Target, I've finally created my new coupon system. And I already love it. And what's funny is this is probably the most common form of coupon organization today. I know I've seen a lot of grocery gamers use this system.

I decided to go with the 3-ring binder, dividers and trading card sleeve style. My main problem with my previous organizer was that I couldn't see all my coupons. I was digging through a pocket trying to find something that I know I slipped in there. It was frustrating for me. I like everything to have a place..that's how I am in all aspects of my home, not just my coupons. So it only made sense for me to find a system that allowed each coupon to have its own space or at least share a space with a common coupon.

So here are some photos and details of my system. I hope this helps those of you looking for your own system. If you need more inspiration, watch this video from Keeping the Kingdom First. I love this lady! She has a true desire to honor the Lord in her spending and is not ashamed of it on her blog. Her video explains her coupon system in detail. I got my ideas from her.

I use a 1.5 in binder. This was what was on sale at Target.

It has pockets on the front and back flaps where I put sales flyers or mail outs I haven't clipped.

I have pocket dividers for each section. That way I can put excess coupons that won't fit or that I need to file there.

Each category has its own section. I like them broken down this way. Quick and easy to find.


I use trading card sleeves in my sections. Each sleeve has 9 slots and I have a couple of sleeves in each section.

I have about 20 categories in my book. Other people don't break them down this detailed and just cover the basics - Food, Beverage, Household, Baby, Health & Beauty, etc. It's up to you how detailed you make it.

Do I take my coupon system with me to the store? Not usually. I always have a menu and a shopping list planned before I go to the store so I am able to bring the coupons I know I will be using. If I know I have a little wiggle room with my budget, I might bring the book in order to have the coupons available if I find a great deal that wasn't on my list. So far I'm really pleased with my system.

Swiffer Coupons

If you are a Swiffer user, you'll love these coupons. They are printable directly from the manufacturer's site. Discounts on refills, dusters, starter kits, etc. So go check them out! I, on the other hand, can't even print them bc I'm running low on ink and my fancy pants printer won't let me print! I need some HP Vivera ink coupons!!

Coupon Organization

This post is more a cry for help than it is informational. I think I need a new coupon organization system. I have a Day Runner Coupon Organizer, and its worked OK for me. However, it doesn't have all the categories I need and its a little small. I don't want anything too large, but the pockets are too small so they are busting bc I have a lot of coupons. I definitely need a better system. I would like something with tabs so I could flip to the category I want right away. I've registered to win the Couponizer and another one I've seen online. But if I don't win them, I'm going to need something. I think I might try to create my own and I have some ideas, but I'm looking for more.
